Our Unique Products

Although we started out just smoking BBQ, we have grown and ventured into a variety of products.  RH8 has been a part of various cook-offs, market days, and been blessed with some very special supporting customers. Each product is a testament to our commitment to quality and trying to use all that God gave us to make life better.  Take a look!!!

Slow smoked BBQ

Brisket is a fan favorite!  It's tender and flavorful every time and definitely a signature item.  We usually cook on holidays and try to advertise those dates.   Anytime you have a gathering or event, give us a holler and we can get you fixed up.  Brisket can be sold whole or by the pound.  Call or text for prices.

RH8 stands for "Robbie, Heather and family of 8".  We are a blended and blessed family of 5 daughters and 1 son.  Additionally, we have 3 bonus sons and 7 grandchildren, with 1 more on the way!!!

There's no doubt that we take pride in our family.  They help us whenever they can, and we have made many memories around the smoker!

Brisket isn't the only thing Robbie does a great job at though.  He is very talented with this pit that he built.  Ribs have become a specialty too, and award winning as well.  In addition, prime rib, pork loin, turkey, sausage, and chicken are delicious!!  Call or text to make an order or check prices.

BBQ Sauce

The only thing that makes Robbie's BBQ better is Heather's BBQ sauce!  We made our own recipe that is a perfect blend of smoky, sweet, and spicy.  We provide our sauce in pint jars for $6 and gallon jugs for $20.

Robbie helps with sauce as needed, and Heather runs the pit when needed!!

Tallow Products

As we started cooking more brisket, the fat seemed like such a waste --I mean, it cost just as much as the meat.   After researching a lot, we were able to render much of the fat and cook the additional trimmings for dog food.  Rendering beef fat into pure tallow takes a lot of time, but when you look at all of the products that can be made, it is a great investment of time and effort.  Aside from being an excellent oil for cooking, the tallow makes a healthy base for soaps, balm, chapstick, deodorant, and sunscreen.  Some benefits of tallow for skin are Vit A, D, E, K, Linoleic acid an omega-6 fatty acid, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, increases collagen production, mimics human skin barrier chemical makeup, and non-comedogenic so it does not clog pores.

TALLOW SOAP

The tallow soap comes in bars approximately 3.5 ounces in size.  Ingredients are tallow, water, lye, and essential oil.  Currently, I have lavender, rosemary, and lemongrass.  In the next 6 weeks a batch of patchouli will be ready.  Soap is $5.00/each

TALLOW BALM

The tallow balm is healing and moisturizing.  Ingredients are tallow and essential oil.  The whipped tallow is temperature sensitive, so shipping is difficult.  Cost is $5 for a 4 oz jar.  A little goes a long way and it can be made with any fragrance or essential oil.  I have made a special batch for a friend using her favorite perfume.  Also, I have added vanilla for added richness.

TALLOW SUNSCREEN

Skin protectant ingredients are tallow, avocado oil, coconut oil, beeswax, and non-nano zinc oxide.  The avocado oil has a natural SPF and the amount of zinc oxide I use produces an SPF of 20-30.  It is not lab tested, so it is not exact, but MUCH less chemicals.  This skin protectant goes on smooth and only a slight glisten of zinc, plus its healthy for your skin.

The price is $6.00 for a 4 oz jar.   Product does expire 6 months from batch date.

TALLOW CHAPSTICK

Tallow chapstick has been so nice!!  Ingredients are tallow, coconut oil, beeswax and peppermint oil.  It can also be used on hands and feet as needed for concentrated moisture for dry skin.

Price $2.00 each

TALLOW for cooking

Pure tallow is excellent for cooking foods, in place of vegetable oil.  The rendered tallow is canned in jars and shelf stable until opened.  I have pints available for $11.50 and quarts available for $22.00

OTHER HOUSEHOLD ITEMS

While learning about how many chemicals are in the common items we use everyday, I began to look for ways I can make things at home.  I know exactly what is in the products and that makes me more comfortable than commercial brands.

Insect repellent ingredients are avocado oil, water, peppermint oil, and lemongrass oil.  Shake well before use.  Price is $5.00 for 2 oz spray bottle.

Laundry detergent ingredients are water, sodium tallowate, sodium cocoate, sodium carbonate, boric acid, fragrance or essential oil.  For an average size load, use 1/4 cup of detergent.  Each bottle should be sufficient for 25 loads of laundry.   Price is $5.00 per bottle.  Product will become thicker as it sits, so just give it a good shake occasionally.  If you do laundry as often as I do, that's not a problem!!  Cows + kids = lots of laundry!
